Counting Your Conscious Friends

Suppose you invited 100 friends and family to your home - admittedly, this implies that you either live in a mansion or don’t have a trace of claustrophobia in you – and asked them if they were conscious.  Of those remaining, who didn’t walk out insulted and/or befuddled by the question, odds are that all of them would strongly assert that, “Yes, of course we are conscious”.  Biologically, that’s probably a valid response.  However, if by conscious(ness) you meant a psycho-spiritual depth of awareness of yourself and the world around you, the odds then would drop off dramatically to just a very few...unless those gathered were all Maryknollers, wherein your house would be a hotbed of consciousness J

If you go to the Affiliate website and click on the NEWS tab and then “Developing Global Conscious”, 10 or more articles will pop up on Living Into the New Consciousness.  They are all wonderful gifts from Sr. Helen O’Sullivan, who has done précis on many important authors. You might want to check this out. The most recent is from Ilia Delio’s, The Hours of the Universe. Here are just a few excerpts:

“First of all, prayer is my awakening to the fact that I am held in being by God, who is the source of my life, the divine ground of my life, who is other than I yet at the heart of me.”

“Evolution is the rise of God in such a way that God is revealed as evolution progresses. In this respect the fullness of revelation has yet to be known, for God will be fully revealed only at the highest stages of consciousness toward which evolution is oriented. Faith and hope in God and the world become faith and hope in God through the world.”

“The contemplative was to see out of a new center and act out of a new energy of love. After all, if we want a different world, we must become a different people.”
