The little things...

Sometimes, lots of times, seemingly little things and everyday moments can have a very significant impact on one’s head and heart. That’s especially the case if the “little thing” involves relationship.  So it was recently with the Los Angeles Chapter as they said goodbye to one of their long time members, Sr. Kathryn Shannon MM.  She will be leaving California for the Sisters’ Center House in Ossining.

Going Home

Affiliate Richard Perez walks Sister Kathryn back to his car.

In 2020 she celebrated 75 years with the Maryknoll Sisters. She is moving to the motherhouse on Oct. 20. Sr. Kathryn has been connected with the Affiliates since Sisters were removed from South Sudan during the civil war in 2000 and has been active with and an inspiration and host to the Affiliates since then. Chapter member Tim Moffett wrote: “Thought you might want to see our final moments as an Affiliate chapter with Sr. Kathryn over lunch at the nearby Spaghetti Factory restaurant.  We are all still in a state of disbelief that Sr. Kathryn won’t be with us again after her ever faithful 20+ years, since 1999. We shared a final box of See’s Candy after lunch.  Life is bitter sweet!” The little things...
