Ten Year Anniversaries - Two Affiliate Newsletters
Among contributions of the Maryknoll Affiliate Movement to the world, to Maryknoll and to our individual longing spirits, our two newsletters – [Spanish] No Tan Lejos del Horizonte (NTLH) and [English] Not So Far Afield (NSFA) – have been especially important and inspiring gifts. Jim Madden MM and Ellen McDonald MM could not have known 30 plus years ago that two such beautifully formatted mediums would have such a central place in the Movement. We are all grateful and very proud.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of NTLH. An incredible achievement of an incredible digital boletín (newsletter). Created and overseen by members of the Guatemala Chapter, it is the voice of all Affiliates in Latin America. The always creative and savvy editors of NTLH have produced a short 7 minute podcast of voices throughout Latin America and the U.S. congratulating NTLH for 10 years of dedication to providing the life and stories of the Affiliates living out the Maryknoll Charism. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of two special women editors at the helm of NSFA – Paula Schaffner and Mary Ryan-Hotchkiss. In each of the ten years under their direction, the substance, formatting and aesthetics of NSFA (digital and print) have somehow gotten even better. The soon-to-be-published May/June edition (photo) is an example of that.
LET US TODAY JOIN IN THE 10 YEAR CELEBRATIONS AND THANK ALL THOSE BEHIND THE SCENES CREATING THESE TWO MAGNIFICENT AFFILIATE NEWSLETTERS… BTW, none of whom have yet to find that envelope carrying the check sent in the mail.
