CATCHING THE AFFILIATE SPIRIT

The July/August 2024 edition of NSFA is out in digital form on the website (see direct link below) and, if you subscribe, the print edition will be in your mailboxes in a couple of weeks. This edition truly puts the Maryknoll Affiliate Spirit on display. It is an especially boundless edition. Here below is how co-editor, Mary Ryan-Hotchkiss summarized the content.

 Many opportunities for Affiliates to catch, nurture, and share their Maryknoll Affiliate spirit are presented in this NSFA issue. California and Houston Affiliates found kindred mission spirits at home initially and recently at Caminando por la Paz, then celebrated that spirit at a meeting with Guatemalan Affiliates. We Affiliates show our spirit when we prepare to vote in our country’s elections. Use the link to the Equally Sacred Guide to examine multiple US issues through a lens of freedom. Brian McLaren, in his “Dreaming of a Harmonious Earth,” offers guidance for citizens of the world. PBS television also helps deepen our understanding of earth, spirit, and Christ with the film, "Teilhard: Visionary Scientist" about the evolution of Teilhard De Chardin’s spiritual vision. Executive Coordinator Bob Short reminds us that we Affiliates are “At the dawn of a new creation.” We encourage all Affiliates to enthusiastically participate in this new creation. Nurture and share your Affiliate spirit at upcoming gatherings: International Affiliate Day, August 3-4, and the Maryknoll-Wide Gathering, September 27-28. See the registration links in this issue
