I became involved with Maryknoll Affiliates after a group of people from the Seattle Chapter visited St. John Vianney in Kirkland, where I attend. These affiliates showed slides and talked with such passion about the work that they do both locally and abroad. All it took was one meeting, approximately seven years ago, and I was totally drawn into this faith-filled group of holy people. Since that time, we’ve done many local projects like teaching English to migrant workers, and collecting clothing and supplies for the Chief Seattle Club in downtown Seattle. I’ve had the privilege of attending the Affiliates Conference in San Diego and of being the Seattle Chapter Coordinator for the past three years. The respect of each person and all cultures that I’ve witnessed by Affiliates has been so life giving!
This September opens up a new chapter in my life. My husband, Al, and I have raised three children and are now both retired teachers. Al retired four years ago and has patiently waited for my recent retirement. We both look forward to meeting each of you as we visit different Chapters in the Northwest Region. We also look forward to future opportunities of doing short-term mission work abroad.
As this transition between Northwest Regional Coordinators takes place, and continuing in the future, please feel free to correspond with me directly through the "Contact the Northwest Region" link.
Peace and blessings,
