Community

Diverse people coming together in the local Chapter form a core community of support, and connect with other Chapters and Maryknoll Missioners around the world, fostering a global community.

The Maryknoll Community reaches across the United States and beyond. Chapters are also located in several countries where Maryknoll missioners have served or are currently present: Bolivia, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, and Tanzania. In addition, we have several virtual chapters. Every three years, a worldwide Maryknoll conference is held— often in New York, near Ossining, the home of Maryknoll. Throughout the year, affiliates gather to share, learn, and deepen their commitment at regional conferences, which are open to all Affiliates.

Maryknoll Phil Wilkins on Mission

Life issues are beyond questions of religious affiliation. Life issues are beyond religion itself. Even nonbelievers are in favor of life. Maryknoll Affiliates can cooperate with anyone who promotes, protects, defends, and saves lives. This includes any activity with anyone who addresses the forces threatening the life of the human species and our planet. These new challenges of the 21st century call all Maryknollers to participate in “partnerships without borders.
— Jim Madden, MM, co-founder of Maryknoll Affiliates
